SAVE THE DATE! Staff Day 2019 will be celebrated at UN Headquarters on Friday, 6 September 2019.
This day is intended to honour the staff and celebrate the unique and important nature of the work that we perform daily.
All staff are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to spend time in the company of colleagues and friends.
The schedule for the day’s activities offers many programs and events, so look out for those that appeal most to you. If you are not registered for any events, you still have time, the deadline is 23 August. Registration links are below
Sports – The long-awaited sporting events scheduled for Friday 6 September will include: basketball (3 on 3), volleyball (6 on 6), flag football (8 on 8), soccer (6 on 6), 1-mile fun run, 4 x 100 relay race for men, 4 x 100 relay race for women, and tug-of-war (8 on 8). You’ll notice that all events, with the exception of the 1-mile fun run, are team sports. This is a great opportunity for your office to form a team and bond over a good game. But if you don’t have a team, you can sign up as an individual, and you will be put in a team where you can make some new friends! If you want to play individually or as a team, please sign up here by 23 August.
Talent Show – We are looking for talented singers, dancers, comedians, musicians, and other performers of any kind to wow us at the Staff Day Talent Show! Sign up here before 23 August and we will contact you about auditioning.
Parade of Nations Fashion Show – Dress to impress, because we’re putting on a fashion show to celebrate the diversity of the UN by showing off our favorite fashions from our different native cultures! We are looking for fashion show committee members and staffing volunteers, and also for models to walk the runway in their own national dress! Interested Secretariat staff and Permanent Mission staff can sign-up here by 23 August.
Raffle – Try out your luck and enter to win the grand prize of a new 2019 Honda Civic, and dozens of other prizes donated from permanent missions including champagne, clothes, gift baskets, desserts, and more! $5 gets you one ticket and $20 gets you a booklet of 5 tickets. Tickets are being sold every day until Staff Day at various locations around lunchtime.
